Breaking Berry-ers
The Breaking Berry-ers is a layered cocktail we made in celebration of Women's History Month and Conniption's partnership with the James Beard Foundation's Women's Leadership Programs. It is also an homage to our owner, CEO, and the creator of Conniption Kinship's recipe, Melissa Katrincic. This cocktail showcases the beautiful color-changing abilities of Conniption Kinship Gin while also paying homage to the original Gin Bramble with the berries and layering. This cocktail demonstrates how easy it is to layer drinks at home and how Conniption Kinship can make any drink a showstopper.
INGREDIENTS
2 oz Conniption Kinship Gin
2 oz Fever-Tree Elderflower Tonic
1.5 oz Strawberry Purée
0.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Fresh Basil
Garnish with Lemon, Strawberry, and Fresh Basil
DIRECTIONS
This cocktail demonstrates an easy way to layer drinks at home. Stir before serving.
- Into a Champagne Flute, pour base layer of Strawberry Purée, being careful not to pour down the sides of the glass.
- In a Cocktail Shaker with ice, add the lemon juice and fresh basil. Shake and double strain over the Strawberry Purée. Pouring over a barspoon will give you more distinct layers.
- For your next layer, slowly pour chilled Fever-tree Elderflower Tonic over the back of a barspoon.
- For the final layer, slowly pour Conniption Kinship over the back of a barspoon to float on top.
- Garnish with Strawberry, Lemon, and Fresh Basil. Stir well to mix ingredients before enjoying!
